My first Con ~ Made in Asia

Hi everyone! it's been a week since my last post, srry ^^' I have been and am very busy with school so blogging won't be as regularly as it used to be, but I still hope you'll enjoy my posts ^^
Okay, so on the 20th of March I went to my very first convention, Made in Asia in Brussels.
The day started not so good by missing our train... so we arrived at 11 o'clock instead of 10 but that was okay, though I could have gotten an extra hour of sleep (my alarm went off at 6 am)
First up was a look through the dealer's room, I was expecting more things I wanted to buy though, but that's good for my wallet, isn't it ;)  I was soooo happy that they had J-pop merchandising, something which didn't occurred to me beforehand, teehee...
Took a look through the Japanese village where you could get a reiki massage and learn about the teaceremony. And into the gameroom! I played singstar and singstar on the Wii (don't know the name ^^') Glee songs!! I sang "Don't rain on my parade', one of my favourite songs!
We also played some other little games, threw with angry birds (plushes, not real birds) and went to everything 2-3 times with discovering new things everytime ^^
At 3 PM there was a gathering for the lolita from Belgium Cupcakes with a group picture and than we went home ^^
As you can see from this pile of text, I didn't take any pictures, not a single one ... *bad blogger, baddd*
I just didn't know what to photograph... For my next convention, I will take lot's of pictures! Promised!
Onto the goodies I bought,

Piano bag, which I now use for my markers
Uchiwa from Arashi, yay for fan-girlyness!!!
A pin from Matsumoto Jun (singer from Arashi)
Little owl card from a shop which products I liked
Bookmark, I LOVE the work from this designer, her painting are wonderful too!
Little pin from Belgium Cupcakes, our Belgian lolita forum.
Postcard made by Annso, a lolita friend. Her drawings are very cute!! and
I love musicnotes on dresses so I couldn't not get these ^^

I'm going to sleep now, Have a nice evening/afternoon/morning, ...

Help Japan!

There are lot's of actions taken to raise money for Japan,
I'm offering my drawing and painting skills to raise money for Japan on the livejournal community help_japan.
If you bid on things and eventually win the auction you have to donate that money to an organisation and you get what you won in that auction.
If you go to this comment you can bid on 4 postcards made by me with any theme, with any material of your choice.
Perhaps you aren't interested in drawings, there are also other things like
words part 1 & part 2
interesting things part 1 & part 2
or you can always offer things yourself.
Thanks for your support!

Earthquake in Japan

By now you must have heard the news about the earthquake which happened yesterday in Japan and is still going on with after shocks.
When I saw the news, I felt it was surreal... Japan is known for many earthquakes each year (they get 20% of the worlds earthquakes, most above 6.0 on Richters scale.) But this was the biggest earthquake ever recorded in Japan and the 7th largest in the whole world...
I immediately checked up on my friends in Japan and most of them are alright, I haven't been able to contact a few but I really hope they are safe!!
Today I also checked the status of my fav Japanese celebrities, here, here and here. and they are all safe.
Japan, my thoughts are with you!!

Day Zero Project 2/33 drawings

My drawing for February 2011
When we came home our light in the livingroom was broken so we spent the evening watching television in candlelight. I was having a drawing mood so I took my book and charcoal and draw.
In the dark... let me tell you, with lights it's easier ^^'
This is my result. Felt like drawing a landscape other than a person so a rock by the sea it is.

There was a documentary on telly that evening and this drawing was a quick image they showed and I liked it very much so I tried to draw it quickly from the image in my mind ^^
See ya next time!

I've been painting again ^^

On the Wednesday in the last week of my vacation, I had such an urge to paint so I did ^^
I started at 8 PM (which explains the rather dark pics), searched some images of dahlia's (my fav flower) and draw them on a canvas.
My brother shot down the computer so I had to colour them without an example, oh well :)
When I make (big) drawings or paintings I tend to photograph along the way, it's a nice view to see it grow I think.
It's made on a regular canvas with acrylic paint.

and a side-shot

I think the red looks a bit weird against the purple flower so I did a bit of a touch-up to the end to make the purple a bit more red.
So what do you think?
Next up is a post of my drawing for February on my Day Zero Project.
